Bark Collars For Dogs |
Bark Collars For DogsBark collars for dogs have been used for decades now but the argument still rages over their effectiveness. I think over time that the fact that they work is certain but are they moral and ethical to use? That is a choice only an indivdual dog owner can make and not for all dog lovers to get on their high horse and rant about. There are basically three types of bark collars for dogs. Ultra sonic, Static and Spray. Ultra sonic uses fairly high pitched sonic for correction in dogs while static gives a stimulation detterent. Spray gives as the name suggests, a short lemon flavoured spray. This type of dog training collar has a built in sensor and it is this sensor that detects the barking of a dog. A short static pulse is then sent to the dog to gain it's attention. These pulses cause no pain and only very minor discomfort. Obviously, once the dog has stopped the barking, the collar can be removed and only used again if the barking restarts. That is the beauty of them. And bear in mind that bark collars for dogs are only designed to eliminate nuisance barking that occurs now and again. They will not prevent barking that is done with force such as when an intruder enters your property etc. Whether you use a bark collar for your dog is entirely up to you. Don't let the purists turn you against the idea. I know I would like my dog not to be the subject of angry neighbour disputes over the dogs barking. It is a short term answer to a long term problem |
